I got too lazy to write in my diary, so I made a blog instead.
Today Laila, Christina, Paravee and I went to Carl's Jr for a car wash to help raise money for Roger Nunez's family. For those who do not know Roger Nunez or have heard about the bad news; he is a senior from Northridge Academy High School. He wasn't just some senior, but a kind-hearted person I knew since middle school. Unfortunately, he was involved in a car accident on February 17, 2009 around 3:00 pm on his way home from school.Once the messenger delivered the bad news to Mrs.Gordon in English class on Wednesday morning, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I seriously thought Mrs.Gordon was reading from the article we were working on. Soon, I finally realized that it was about someone from school. Silence filled the room and we all just continued annotating articles. However, we all began working at a much slower pace. The news hit us way too hard. As soon as the bell rang, I walked through the hallways and noticed how quiet it was. I saw a lot of people crying too. It's really beautiful to know how many lives one person has affected. His sister was in the car during the accident as well, and survived. I met her for the first time today and she was so strong. I'm so proud of her because of how strong she is being through all of this. There were so many people that showed up at the car wash today and seeing all the new and familiar faces made me so happy and proud. In the end, they raised 5,000 dollars. It's really beautiful. Even though people got annoyed of him countless times, we all still loved him because he always made us smile. No matter how big or small his impact may have been on us, he still affected each and every one of us at Northridge Academy High School.
Roger Nunez you will always be remembered and loved.
Rest in Paradise, Puma. I love you.
